Local Author Kura Carpenter wins the coveted Sir Julius Vogel Award

Local author, Kura Carpenter has won the award for Best New Talent in the 2019 Sir Julius Vogel Awards which were declared over the Queen’s Birthday weekend. The Sir Julius Vogel awards were announced at GeyserCon, New Zealand’s 4oth National Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention. Kura’s debut novel, The KingFisher’s Debt, an urban fantasy novel set in Dunedin, was released in 2018 to wide acclaim. Well done Kura!
